Past, aka Observation One

My name is Josh. I find myself in a wonderful 1/4 acre ranch-style 3-bedroom, 2-bath, 45-year-old home in Kentucky. It is nondescript, but I enjoy a nondescript life. To define oneself is to destroy creativity and uniqueness. My wife Katie and I enjoy a quaint existence. I work for a bank, she is a teacher. We are moderately involved in a local church. Exciting folks, we are. We enjoy our deliberately slow, laid-back lives. I grew up in St. Louis, so I am well-acquainted with the bustling city life. After several years of rejecting the small-town life, I have finally embraced the community.

Katie and I are soon to welcome our first child -- a son -- into this quiet household. We will see how that works out. I understand they are non-refundable and come with a hefty maintenance price tag. We are 39 weeks and 1 day pregnant. We have an exciting (as are they all) doctor's appointment tomorrow. I will keep you (whomever that may be) posted on the progress in more human terms and fewer medical terms.

That's the idea behind this blog. It will be fun chronicling our adventures as we attempt to show a child how to adapt to our peaceful existence (versus the opposite way). My wife and I are focusing on traditional, tried-and-true methods for raising children. I do not plan to differ much from how my great-grandparents raised my grandparents 90 years ago. You (whomever that may be) will be my audience. Enjoy!
